- 2. Connect the corner brackets to the base panels: Lay the base panels (the shortest ones) on the ground in the U-shape pattern. Insert a corner bracket into each inside corner and loosely attach with the provided bolts and nuts. Do not tighten fully yet. Hand-tighten only — you will align everything later. Overtightening now can warp the panels.
- 3. Stack the side panels: Place the next set of panels on top of the base row, aligning the pre-drilled holes with the brackets. Add bolts and nuts at each corner. Keep stacking until you reach the desired height (the 17" kit uses two rows of panels). Check that the panels are oriented with the smooth side facing outward for a clean look.
- 4. Level and tighten all connections: Use a level to check the top edge of the bed. Tap panels gently with a rubber mallet to adjust. Once level, tighten every bolt evenly — work your way around the bed a few times to distribute tension. An uneven bed can shift over time. Re-check level after the first watering.
- 5. Secure the top caps (if included): Snap the plastic top caps onto the exposed panel edges. These protect the galvanized steel and give a finished appearance. Press firmly until they click into place. Top caps also prevent cuts from sharp edges — install them before filling the bed.
